Prestige Imports|Pagani of Miami is honored to present this 2022 Pagani Huayra Roadster BC. The specific Roadster BC is named Quaranta, which is Italy for 40, as this RBC is the final 40th-of-40 car ever made. In Roadster BC trim, this Huayra trim's moniker are a tribute to the late Benny Caiola, a car collector who holds the distinction of being Pagani's very first customer. Specially designed Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires wrap 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels in front and 21-inch rims in the rear. The Huayra Roadster BC comes standard with lower-body aero elements and a massive wing, and Pagani claims these features work hand in hand to produce a maximum of 1102 pounds of downforce at 174 mph. All models are equipped with a titanium exhaust that directs exhaust gases to the functional diffuser, much like the blown diffusers of Formula 1. A twin-turbocharged V-12 lives in the middle of the car. Sourced from Mercedes-AMG , this engine generates 791 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed single-clutch automatic sends power to the rear wheels. Pagani notes that this single-clutch setup is lighter than a dual-clutch transmission. Speaking of weight, the Huayra BC is relatively svelte, tipping the scales at about 2755 pounds. Given the engine's output, we weren't surprised when it leapt to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds at our test track. According to Pagani the roadster can generate up to 1.9 g's of continuous lateral acceleration when taken through a corner, with peaks of up to 2.2 g's. Carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes are on hand to quickly bring this hypercar to a standstill.

Through extraordinary hard work, personal financial investment, engineering ingenuity, and overriding passion, Horacio Pagani formed Modena Design to provide composites expertise. From Modena Design, Pagani Automobili S.p.A. was founded to develop a dream that would become the Zonda.rnrnA key event in the development of the Zonda was sealed with the help of Juan Manuel Fangio. Shortly before Fangio died, he helped Pagani secure supply of Mercedes-Benz's legendary M120 V-12 engines. Incredibly, the Zonda would take five years after this deal to be revealed to the world, mainly due to the car being developed by Horacio Pagani himself without a large engineering team behind him. The purity of Pagani's single-minded vision for the Zonda is one of the reasons why the model is today one of the most revered cars in the world.rnrnUnveiled at the 1999 Geneva International Motor Show, the Zonda C12 was powered by a 6.0-litre version of the engine tuned by AMG. Weighing in at a claimed 1,250 kilograms, it could accelerate to 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.7 seconds and top out at nearly 300 km/h. Due to their handmade nature, Zondas have always taken a huge amount of time to build, and only five cars were completed in the first year of production before the 7.0-litre S version was announced with additional design upgrades to the front and rear clams. Two years later in 2002, the final capacity for the Zonda of 7.3 litres was revealed, the ultimate iteration of the M120 V-12, widely regarded as one of greatest engines ever to be produced out of Stuttgart. In addition, the Roadster version was first made available, adding another capability to the hugely talented model.rnrnAs Pagani's reputation grew, customers' demands for unique specifications grew so special editions began to emerge, and a Zonda S was prepared for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. As the Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera GT, and Bugatti Veyron were launched, Pagani updated the Zonda again with the F, the ultimate production version. Special editions in series of five appeared such as the Cinque and Tricolore.rnrnKeeping close to his motorsport origins, Horacio Pagani developed the Zonda R in 2007 with the prime aim of taking the lap record of the Nurburgring Nordschleife for non-road-legal cars, something it achieved by beating Ferrari's 599XX by over 10 seconds.rnrnWith the Tricolore and R, it seemed as though the Zonda had reached its zenith, yet Pagani took the motoring world by surprise when it announced the 760 RS. It seemed that customers wanted the thrill of a Zonda R on the road, so Pagani had made it a mission to surpass the R's 739 horsepower with AMG's engineers bringing the engine power up to 760 horsepower with a 7,500 rpm redline. To help handle the power, a seven-speed paddle-shift automated-manual gearbox was developed, boosting acceleration and top speed even further.rnrnPagani's improvements for the 760 weren't merely mechanical; the chassis was redesigned to be built out of carbo-titanium, essentially carbon fibre with titanium fibres interwoven through the composite. This development not only created a stiffer platform but shed even more weight from a car that was already considered featherweight compared to the competition.rnrnStarting with a Zonda S 7.3 Roadster, this Zonda LM Roadster was built to full 760 specification to the exact wishes of the consigning owner. Built as a pair with the Zonda LM Coupe, the LM Roadster features bare lacquered carbon fibre throughout with green flashes, and in Pagani's signature finish of being perfectly laid up from panel to panel. rnrnThroughout the body are beautiful Cinque, Tricolore, and Zonda R features including but not limited to Cinque sills, Cinque front spoiler, Cinque front wheelarch louvres, 760-specification front wheelarch eyelids, Cinque rear diffuser, Zonda R-style front dive planes, Cinque Roadster air intake, 19-inch Zonda R-style wheels, Huayra wing mirrors, Tricolore rear quarter intakes, 760-specification rear fin, Cinque engine cover, Zonda R-style rear brake lights, Zonda Revolucion-inspired rear wing, and a Tricolore exhaust outlet. A unique light cluster was created for the LMs, inspired by contemporary Le Mans prototypes with it being a covered headlight arrangement. Finally, the interior was adorned with competition-derived features including an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel, suede and leather bucket seats, four-point harnesses, and beautiful green stitching throughout to match the exterior highlights.rnrnFollowing its delivery to the consigning owner, this incredible Zonda LM Roadster has participated in several Pagani Radunos, Supercar Owners Circle tours, and passing appearances at events throughout Europe. The odometer displays 28,505 kilometres at the time of cataloguing. rnrnToday, only 140 Zonda road cars exist, an extraordinarily low number for any supercar. Celebrating its 25th anniversary during 2024, the Zonda is now regarded as one of the greatest supercars ever made, spoken of in the same sentence as the McLaren F1, Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR, and Porsche 911 GT1. It is incredibly rare for a Zonda to be offered at public auction, the last time being at RM Sotheby's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix sale in 2019. This LM Roadster is one of the highest specification Zondas in the world. The Argentine-Italian engineer can be credited with restyling the Lamborghini Countach to create the striking 25th Anniversary edition. He was also a driving force behind the marque experimenting with composite technology. While Kevlar and carbon fibre-reinforced panels would ultimately make their way onto production cars, the pioneering, lightweight Countach Evoluzione sadly remained a one-off prototype. With his request for the company to purchase an autoclave turned down, Horacio had the motivation to establish Pagani Automobili in his own image.rnrnThe first model devised, the Zonda, was adored throughout its many evolutions. However, in keeping with his forward-thinking approach, Mr Pagani had already turned his attention to conceiving its successor as early as 2003. Codenamed the C9, it was a clean-sheet design that embraced aerodynamic efficiency to result in a sleek and soft silhouette. Among the most distinctive features, four active flaps-two at the front, two more at the rear-that were managed by a dedicated control unit to continually adjust to provide optimum downforce. Given this manipulation of the air, the car would be appropriately christened 'Huayra' in deference to Wayra Tata, the Quechua wind god. rnrnUnderlining why the pair were a perfect match, Pagani's engine partner, Mercedes-AMG, was similarly ahead of the curve. With the new hypercar came a new powerplant in the form of a lightweight, twin-turbocharged V-12 displacing 5,980 cc. As forthcoming emissions restrictions dictated a move away from natural aspiration, Affalterbach's finest were intent on crafting an engine that still felt linear and banished notions of lag to maximise drivability.rnrnThe track-only Zonda R would prove something of a rolling testbed for developments to the Huayra, which paved the way for the introduction of the more aggressive BC. Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016, here was a personal tribute to Benny Caiola, an early investor in Pagani and the company's first-ever customer. The BC gained an extra 20 horsepower to take the total to 753, which was transmitted to the rear wheels only via a single-clutch, paddle-operated, seven-speed sequential manual transmission. rnrnDespite the use of composites throughout the 'standard' car, a staggering weight saving of more than 130 kilograms was still achieved for the BC thanks to the development of a new Carbo-Triax material that was reportedly 50 per cent lighter and 20 per stiffer than conventional carbon fibre. A new titanium exhaust system, pared-back interior, and alloy wheel redesign further aided the diet. Meanwhile, the BC gained a prominent fixed rear wing and more aggressive front splitter.rnrnPagani stated that just 20 examples of the BC would be built at its San Cesario sul Panaro, Italy headquarters. Of those, chassis 76130 offered here is believed to be the 11th car constructed. It was completed in 2017 before being registered in Andorra by its sole owner in August that year. Proudly showcasing the materials that Mr Pagani had developed for so long, this car's bodywork is presented in clear, lacquered, bare carbon fibre and capped off with bright orange accents, including for the brake callipers. This Huayra was subsequently treated to maintenance by Pagani in August 2019, at which point it was recorded as having covered 1,550 kilometres. rnrnThen, during the 2021 edition of the Monterey Car Week, Pagani unveiled the 'Pacchetto Tempesta' for the BC. This new package further enhanced the Huayra's on-track credentials in the form of a new front splitter with a dedicated air intake, plus a reprofiled rear wing featuring a prominent central fin. A six-pipe exhaust system was equipped in addition to new suspension, while an optimised powertrain brought the total output to some 827 horsepower.rnrnAn even higher performance ceiling having been unlocked for the Huayra BC, chassis 76130 returned to the factory to be upgraded to 'Pacchetto Tempesta' specification, which the car retains today. Please note, this car's appearance now differs slightly from its catalogue photography. The more aggressive exterior is complemented by the matching interior. The leather seat pads, steering wheel accents, and stitching are also presented in orange, while black Alcantara and carbon fibre trim accompany the aluminium fascia, air vents, dials, and artisan exposed gear linkage. rnrnVery seldom is a Huayra BC publicly offered for sale, given the model's incredible rarity. The example presented here is that much more exclusive and desirable, courtesy of gaining the 'Pachetto Tempesto' upgrades.
