The Scaglietti name attached to the 2+2 sports car was attributed to Ferrari 1950s coachbuilder Carrozzeria Scaglietti. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Pininfarina design of the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti was inspired by a custom-bodied 1954 375 MM. The 612 Scaglietti was the first twelve-cylinder Ferrari production vehicle to feature an all-aluminum chassis. The 612 Scaglietti is 5.5 inches longer than the 456 model it replaced but thanks to its aluminum chassis weigh a couple of hundred pounds less. There is considerably more room in the cabin making the 612 a bona fide true 4 seater. Powered by the same powerplant used on the 575M Maranello, the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti received power from a 540-horsepower 5.7-liter V12. In addition to the standard six-speed manual transmission, the 612 Scaglietti was also available with a paddle-shifting, six-speed F1-type gearbox. 0-60 takes just a little over 4 seconds. Top speed is rated at just under 200 mph. No Ferrari has ever been this easygoing and comfortable.  In the default "normal" mode, the control-arm suspension's adaptive damping absorbs potholes and irons out the rough edges of troublesome surfaces. When equipped with the F1 Transmission the rear-mounted gearbox shifts smoothly, without the fussy jerkiness that has undermined earlier iterations of F1 System. The 612 combines elegant styling with luxurious interior appointments and a smooth and powerful V12 engine to deliver a unique driving experience not only for the driver but for the passengers as well.

2007 Ferrari 612 Sessanta, S/N ZFFJB54A270157300, Black and Grigio Scuro with Terra Bruciata leather interior.  5.7 liter V12 with 6-speed paddleshift transmission.  The Sessanta was commissioned by the then Ferrari CEO, Luca di Montezemolo, to celebrate Ferrari’s 60th anniversary…only 60 Sessantas were constructed for the World and each adorned with a plaque, marking a significant event over their six decades of success.  Our Sessanta is the “Panamericana Mexico” edition and it was ordered new and spec’d out by me back in 2007 for its only custodian over these past 17 years!  This is a one owner, super low mileage Sessanta!  Believed to be one of only 14 that came to the USA back in ’07.  Ordered in the “launch colors” of two-toned Nero and Grigio Scuro with a totally bespoke leather interior of Terra Bruciata, a very rich and deep saddle.
