You are looking at Corvette EX87/5951, which was pulled off the production line by General Motors in mid-1954 and given engineering tracking number 5951. This car was turned over to General Motors Engineers Mauri Rose, winner of the Indianapolis 500 three times, and Maurice Rosenberger, transmission specialist, for V-8 and manual transmission testing for the 1955 and 1956 Corvette. Their work was completed in mid-1955 and 5951 was sent to Zora Duntov, newly named head of Corvette engineering, for further experiments at the GM Desert Proving Grounds near Mesa, Arizona. 
 
 
Duntov's creation of a specially designed "hi-lift cam shaft" (the famous "Duntov Cam") in the Chevy Small Block Engine enabled EX87/5951 to reach a speed of just under 163 MPH. 
 
 
Zora Duntov in EX87/5951 at the proving grounds near Mesa, Arizona, EX87/5951 was then trucked back to the Tech Center in Warren, Michigan, where the engine and transmission were removed, retested, and placed in a 1956 prototype, ready for speed week racing at Daytona Beach in rarly 1956. EX87/5951 was reassembled in early 1956, using a red 1955 body and the latest 1956 products available at the Tech Center, including engine and trans- mission. It was then used as demonstrator (note holes in the bumper and frame that accom- modate the tow hitch). 
Due to the success of the 1956 Corvette, the demonstrator was retired, assigned the VIN EX87 and sold to an unknown (to this date) GM employee sometime in 1956. Its whereabouts were unknown until purchased by the present owners in 1968. Aside from painting the car "Venetian Red" the mid-1970s and replacing worn parts, all of what you see is the original car as it was purchased in 1968.

The all-new Corvette C8 is the eight generation of Corvette and the first to feature a rear, mid-engine layout.  The first trim level to be produced, (Stingray) commenced production at the GM plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky in February 2020.  Following on from the launch of the incredibly successful C8 Stingray, the eagerly awaited Z06 Coupe instantly became the most powerful, naturally aspirated production V8 of all time, with the all new 5.5L Flat Plane Crank LT6 V8 engine that produced an incredible 670hp at 8,400rpm...this eclipsed the previous record holder, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series by almost 50hp!Mated to this incredibly potent motor is an 8-Speed Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission which helps to propel the Z06 from 0-60mph in just 2.6 seconds.  Whilst the Z06 shares the same basic suspension components with the Stingray, the Z06 features an electronic limited-slip differential and magnetic ride adaptive suspension system. This is a CARFAX Certified One-Owner Z06 Coupe with the 3LZ package.  Supplied in March 2023 to a local Los Angeles based collector, this particular example has only covered 563 miles since new and has always been stored in a climate controlled garage.
