Garage Find 1959 Chevrolet Corvette with Two Tops Out of 51 Year Ownership This 1959 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible has been off the road and in storage since 1987. The previous owner purchased the car in 1973 and has had it ever since. Blue with ivory interior and two tops. 4-Speed manual. It's been patiently awaiting a straightforward and well deserved restoration. Not currently running but comes complete and is highly original. 1959 is a very desirable year for the C1 Corvette, making this particular example quite an exciting find. This 1959 Chevrolet Corvette is powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in Frost Blue over a blue vinyl interior. Equipment includes a white convertible top, chrome bumpers and trim, power steering, power brakes, 15â³ wheels with whitewall tires, a retro-style Bluetooth stereo, and a fire extinguisher. The fiberglass body is finished in Frost Blue and features a replacement white convertible top and matching coves. Additional exterior equipment includes quad headlights, chrome bumpers and trim, and dual exhaust tips exiting through the rear bumper. The hood, left rear quarter panel, and front fenders were repainted in August 2015.Body-color 15â³ wheels feature polished Corvette covers and wear 205/75 Coker Classic whitewall tires. EPAS Performance power steering and power front disc brakes were installed in 2017. The suspension and steering gear were rebuilt in 2019 by Snell Automotive in Memphis, Tennessee.The cockpit features low-back bucket seats re-trimmed in blue vinyl along with a matching dash pad, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a heater, dash-mounted rearview mirror, lap belts, and a retro-style Bluetooth stereo connected to kick panel speakers. A removed factory radio is included in the sale. A fire extinguisher is located in the trunk, and the carpets were replaced in August 2015.The three-spoke steering wheel frames a Stewart Warner tachometer, a 160-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 16k miles, approximately 800 of which were added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The analog clock was rebuilt, the horn button was repaired in June 2019, and the seller states that the fuel gauge is inaccurate.The 350ci V8 was installed during prior ownership and reportedly sourced from a later-model Corvette. It is equipped with an Edelbrock intake manifold, finned valve covers, and a PowerGen alternator. Service during current ownership included repairing wiring, rebuilding the carburetor, and replacing the timing chain, oil pan, spark plugs, and valve covers.
