Richard Childress Racing is one of the best names on the racetrack, and those in the know also remember there was an RCR Street Performance division.  And this 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS Supercharged Richard Childress Racing RC2 Edition is a one-of-one that celebrates the best of both its competition history and mind-blowing street performance.     Richard Childress Racing (RCR) is just as much a keeper of the Dale Earnhardt legacy as Dale Jr (that's why they both signed the dash.) That's why this special Camaro looks so right with a tribute to The Intimidator.  The color theme is a sleek factory back with silver accents and red perimeter striping.  So it doesn't need a big #3 on the door or all those classic sponsor decals to already let you know this one is doing it for Dale.  And more than an awesome race car color package, this one earns its intimidation with a prominent chin spoiler, blacked-out grille, NASCAR-inspired rear spoiler, blacked-out tail lights, and a custom sculpted style hood. RCR even has its own set of unique 20-inch alloys that let you get a nice look at the complete brake package within. And everything looks so clean because this car has less than 18k miles.  In fact, you know they kept it to quite a high standard because the car was a promotional piece and won its class at the 2013 Detroit Autorama.   The interior continues the thoughtful style.  The black with gray upholstery and carpeting is similar to the exterior color theme.  And the red carbon fiber accents bring the full-color package together.   There are also RCR logos embroidered on the headrests and floor mats and the signatures on the dash to remind you how special this coupe is.  While this is desirable for its uniqueness, you'll also really appreciate how this is a loaded modern machine. You get cold-blowing air conditioning, power seats, power windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, power steering, and cruise control. Plus, you get an awesome Boston Acoustics stereo system. We all love the retro-cool gauges that give you the large speedo and tach up front with the classic quad auxiliary readouts in the center console. But your favorite gauges will likely be the modern head-up display ideal for performance driving.  Under the hood lives the 6.2-liter fuel-injected LS3 V8 now topped RCR aluminum heads and an awesome polished supercharger on top.  It inhales deeper with a Roto-Fab cold air intake system. And the mighty V8 exhales with authority as headers feed the special free-flow catalytic converters into the dual exhaust and Billy Boat mufflers. The full package is said to make a whopping 720 horsepower! So they upgraded the six-speed manual transmission with a Hurst short throw shifter, twin disc high-performance clutch, and a billet steel flywheel.  They have also upgraded the fully independent suspension, including thick PFADT sway bars. And stopping power is upgraded with special RCR four-wheel power disc brakes by Wilwood. *1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Resto-Mod*The early Chevrolet Camaro is a car that symbolizes the Pony Car wars of the late 1960s. But with a significant redesign going into the 1969 model year, the Camaro left the world of Pony Cars, instead becoming a full fledged muscle car. With its more angular edges and exaggerated rear haunch, the 1969 Camaro is arguably the one everybody wants and is a blast to drive stock but also takes quite well to modifications.This 1969 Camaro SS is presented in stunning black over black with white SS stripes. It has been the subject of some significant upgrades that make it go, stop and handle far better than anything Chevrolet built in the period. The more aggressive lines on the 1969 Camaro look stunning in black and are complimented by a set of American Racing 5-spoke mag wheels with modern performance tires on them. Sitting behind those wheels is a set of 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes that offer exceptional stopping power and make the car both more fun and more confidence inspiring to use on a daily basis. The chrome around the car is in exceptional condition and the rear bumper features longer overriders that dip down below the lower scuttle panel. To give this Camaro a bit more of a Trans-Am race car look, a lower splitter has been installed up front, which is then paired with a decklid spoiler in the rear that helps keep the car planted at speed.The interior has also been completely gone-through with the seats wrapped in a beautiful combination of black vinyl with houndstooth centers front and rear. Slide into the driver's seat and you are met by a beautiful wood-rimmed 3-spoke steering wheel that frames a speedometer and tachometer, while auxiliary gauges are mounted in front of the shifter on the console. This interior was done largely to factory specifications and it retains all of the original charm including an AM/FM stereo and a period-correct looking Hurst shifter with a cue-ball shift knob.As good as this car looks, where it really shines is under the hood. In place of the original iron-block V8, an all aluminum 6.2-liter LS3 V8 has been fitted with electronic ignition which is controlled by a fender-mounted MSD box. Mounted to the sides of the engine are a set of Dyna Tech headers with a full stainless 3-inch dual exit exhaust that dumps out the back and gives the car the quintessential muscle car sound. Power is routed through a Tremec 5-speed manual gearbox to the rear wheels via a 12-bolt Detroit Truetrac rear end. To help the car handle more sure footedly, a 4-link rear suspension has been fitted along with subframe connectors and composite rear leaf springs. When all of this is combined with power brakes and power steering, it perfectly combines the classic and modern driving experiences in a single vehicle.The 1969 Camaro SS is one of the most instantly recognizable American classics ever produced and is the ideal starting point for resto-modding.
